Let your property on favourable terms... and bring a Syrian family to safety.
Refugees Welcome in Richmond is working alongside Richmond Council to seek homes for families fleeing the crisis in Syria. These are people from all walks of life who have found themselves in the middle of a war zone and lost everything.
The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames has so far welcomed three Syrian families under the Government's Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS), which seeks to resettle vulnerable refugees from UN camps. The scheme depends on finding privately let homes here in the Borough as social housing must be reserved for Council waiting lists. More rental homes are urgently needed if other families are to be brought to safety.
We have worked with the Council to develop an excellent package of benefits for landlords participating in the scheme:
Rent paid direct to landlord by Government (Local Housing Allowance rates)
Standard short-term tenancy agreements with Council as guarantor
2-5 year tenancies
Rent and council tax paid from date property is available
One-off incentive: £2500-£3500 (size-dependent) + six weeks rent equivalent
No letting fees if dealing direct with Council
Council handles all logistics and provides all necessary support to the family
